One major problem that could cause this is if the horse is in pain. For this reason, call in a vet to examine the horse and establish if the grounds of this are arthritis.

The other indication that the mare is when there is puffiness around the joints. That is because if the horse does not get the needed medication, then the body will try to manage the ache, which in turn will cause swellings in the joints. Another sign that indicates that your horse may require medical attention is when you realize that it is resistant to frequent movement. By feeling the joints, you will be able to determine that the horse is in pain or not.
